Rockferry is an organic/biodynamic estate started in 2005 and owned by Tom and Fiona Hutchison, with vines planted in Marlborough and Central Otago. All grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted across a table, mixing the modern stainless steel tanks with the traditional Burgundian puncheons, French cuvees and French oak barriques for ageing. No expense spared winemaking- and it shows!
Hand harvested and whole bunched pressed Pinot Noir. The free run juice was then settled for 24 hours before being racked into a mix of seasoned oak barrels and stainless steel barrels for fermentation. The wine was then matured for 3.5 years prior to disgorging.
Floral and wild berries on the nose, then strawberries and cream on the palate, dry, complex - summer in a bottle!
