Barbersco is a village in Piedmont, Northern Italy famed for the nebbiolo grape that makes incredibly age worthy often rustic style reds.
2017 was a tricky vintage in Barbaresco with a combination of hail, then frost followed by extreme heat challenged the fruit growers.
As always, those producers at the top of their game managed to pull through relatively unscathed and have produced wines with generous elegance rather than austerity.
This is one of the best Barbaresco that we’ve have tasted. Elegant and nuanced, this leaves a long lasting impression. This could be easily be cellared for decades but is totally drinkable now.
