Le Grappin is the project of Aussie born Emma & Andrew Nielsen who have been making waves with their wine making project based in Burgundy since 2011. Seeking out underrated parcels in this extremely competitive area of the France, We are beyond happy to have some new vintages and new wines for you. Du Grappin are vins de soif, made to be delicious, fun, and refreshing. Le Grappin is the core of their offering, premium wines from over-looked, under-appreciated parcels of the Côte D'Or.
100% whole cluster old-vine (60+ years) on the slopes of Nyons, in the Northern part of the Southern Rhône. Cool nights keep the acidity bright, and being further north than most of the Côte du Rhône, the fruit spectrum is more crunchy blue fruits than jam. Vinified no SO2, indigenous yeasts,and minimal pump-overs just for aeration and no pigeage, keeps the tannins soft and fine. Aged in old Burgundy barrels for nine months. No enzymes, no fining, no filtration. Perfect companion to Bavette and chips!
